I chose an internship in construction because the field of transportation, in my opinion, is the most urgent sustainability issue facing the world today. Because the global population is rising at an exponential rate and world governments' infrastructure is already lacking and quickly decaying, my goal is to apply my passion for improving sustainable systems to the construction of streetcars and railroads across the United States. I have conducted an extensive research project on the potential benefits of a high-speed railroad connecting Phoenix and Los Angeles; it was through this consultant report that I decided that one day, I will be a part of the construction of the first high-speed train in the United States. This goal has motivated me to excel in school and pursue an internship with Stacy and Witbeck. This company is nationwide and I know that my potential with this company after I graduate is limitless.
